I believe in the last installment, I talked about CrossFit and Yoga as new programs I was trying out. Both of them are great things for your health, but it is time to talk about nutrition in depth. I have mentioned protein and complex carbohydrates. What exactly is the protein I consume in my everyday diet? I eat LOTS of chicken, some turkey, and very little pork and beef. The reason I prefer poultry is due to research on the meat industry. The leaner the meet, the better. However, I occasionally eat beef or pork for the iron content my body craves after intense workouts. I also mentioned Whey Protein powder to make shakes to increase the nutrients I am lacking.
Remember: It’s okay to splurge and eat comfort food on occasion. Don’t feel guilty if you do! Keep your portion size of your meals whether healthy or unhealthy to a minimum. Do NOT over eat.
